Feature Title

The old and the new. The Old Kawasaki GPZ 1100 1982 with just under 6,000 miles. In 1981, Kawasaki claimed that the GPZ1100 was the quickest production motorcycle available. By modern standards the GPZ looks like a civilized all around, 'standard' style motorcycle, but when it was introduced it was regarded as an all out sport bike. The concept utilized by Kawasaki was to take an existing engine (from the KZ1000), modify for maximum performance, and put it in a modern, light-weight chasis. The engine was not overly high tech, being a 2 valve per cylinder design, but Kawasaki did make use of fuel injection. In 1983 the GPZ1100 was given a makeover, with 4 valve heads amongst other improvements. It was considerably more powerful, and benefitted from a modified chasis and new bodywork. Power in 1983 was 104.06bhp@9000rpm, with torque of 62.48@8000. Wet weight was 578lb's.
